ADOT Expands MVD Customer Services with Enhanced Live Chat Options

The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) has introduced an expanded array of customer services accessible through Live Chat on its website, azdot.gov, marking a significant enhancement in digital customer service offerings.

This initiative is part of MVD's ongoing commitment to increase convenience for Arizonans by enabling more online services. The newly added features via Live Chat include registration credit refunds and disbursements, title and registration fee estimations, and registration status letter requests. These services complement existing online offerings, such as submitting a sold notice, address changes, disability placard replacements, and scheduling appointments at MVD offices.

Utilizing the Live Chat feature allows customers to interact directly with an MVD representative, thereby eliminating the need for a physical visit to local MVD offices. This not only saves time for the customers but also contributes to reducing wait times across MVD offices statewide. The convenience of addressing concerns, receiving answers to questions, and completing services with an MVD expert is now just a click away on a computer or smartphone.

The popularity of the Live Chat service, which was introduced in September 2022, has been on a steady rise. In June 2023 alone, nearly 28,000 chats were recorded, underscoring the feature's success and acceptance among Arizonans. Live Chat is operational from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, offering a user-friendly way for customers to manage their motor vehicle needs efficiently.

In addition to Live Chat, customers can access services through the azmvdnow.gov portal, contact MVD at 602.255.0072, or visit an MVD office in person. Despite the increase in digital service usage, MVD offices continue to maintain low average wait times, currently just over 10 minutes, ensuring prompt and effective in-person service for those who prefer or require it.

This expansion of digital services through Live Chat is a testament to ADOT MVD's dedication to leveraging technology for improved customer service, making motor vehicle administration more accessible, efficient, and user-friendly for all Arizonans.
